All of you who know me, know that I have benn running for the last 3 years. I have completed 2 half marathons and now I am embarking on a full marathon. I decided I did not want to run a marathon for running sake, I have decided to do something greater than myself.

I thought maybe I could raise money for Kidney research because my mom died of kidney disease or a program that helped children in grief but after learning about Team in Training, I knew this was it!

Team in training has over 35,000 volunteers nationwide. Some will run, walk or cycle for their event. As a member of the Team, I will run a marathon on behalf of local Leukemia patients and will raise funds to battle leukemia- the #1 killer of children.

It is estimated that Leukemia and related cancers struck more than 100,000 Americans and killed 57,000.Although the cause of these cancers remain unknown, steady advances in research and treatment are bringing us closer to cures. In fact, thanks to the research funded in part by the the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the survival rate for the most common form of childhood Leukemia has improved from 4% in 1960 to 85% today.

Although my parents did not die from cancer. I intend to run no only for this cause but in honor of my parents. Please help me acheive my goal by donating what ever you feel you would like to. My dollar goal is $2,000. Whatever I raise I will match dollar for dollar up to $1,000. Thanks in advance for all of your help and encouragment!!!!
